L&T Public Charitable Trust constructs Girls Hostel and other facilities in Navsari.
L&T Public Charitable Trust (LTPCT), a part of Larsen & Toubro, India’s leading EPC, Hi-Tech Manufacturing and Services conglomerate, today announced the inauguration of ‘Rajmata Jijabai Kanya Chhatralaya’, a Girl’s Hostel, Gram Panchayat and a Community Hall at Chondha village, Vansda in Navsari, Gujarat.
The Girls Hostel, Gram Panchayat and Community Hall were inaugurated by Shri Kunvarjibhai N. Halpati, Hon’ble Minister of State, Tribal Development, Labour and Employment, Rural Development, Govt. of Gujarat in the presence of LTPCT trustees Shri Atik Desai and Shri K Ramkrishnan.
The hostel will provide suitable and organized living conditions to girls & women from marginalized tribal communities of Navsari allowing them to continue their education and pursue their careers. The hostel holds an occupant capacity of 120 students.
Speaking on the occasion the Spokesperson at LTPCT, said: “At LTPCT, it has been our continuous endeavour to promote initiatives aimed at overall social development and empowering the marginalized segments of the society. With this development, we wish to address three important social needs – delivering quality education to the tribal community, bridging the gender gap, and building the infrastructure to make that happen. The hostel will allow thousands of women gain access to education and pursue their career leading to inclusive growth. The newly developed Gram Panchayat and Community Hall will work towards the meeting the social, economic and also cultural needs of the local people of Navsari”.
The Trust’s mission is to create a sustainable and equitable society by empowering communities and individuals through education, healthcare, skill building and by conserving nature through water resource development.
The Trust has been working towards achieving this mission by implementing various programmes and initiatives across the country like running the Health & Dialysis Centres in Vadodara and Surat, Maternal and Child Health Project, Arogya – Vansda and Ahwa, Anganwadis, Science and computer labs in Chondha School, Urmi Science Centre and conducting skill building by the Anil Naik Technical Training Centre.
